Diaz Hangs Shingle: Danny Diaz, the biggest consumer of political news we know, is starting his own communications consulting shop after years spent working within the Republican party hierarchy. The new firm, which will be known as Diaz Communications, expects to be intimately involved in the coming congressional fight over the Employee Free Choice Act and will aim to advise congressional candidates on message strategy. Diaz spent most of 2008 as the communications director at the Republican National Committee after doing a stint in the press shop of Sen. John McCain's (Ariz.) presidential bid. "While the economic environment is challenging, businesses and organizations -- now more than ever before -- are looking for counsel that delivers results and improves the bottom line," said Diaz of the move.
